The Last Diwali

You know the most painful part of being away from home on Deepawali? It is the fact that Deepawali celebrations run for 5 days!! For those who are planning to close this link thinking this is another cribbing post from an IT professional who couldn't make it home for Diwali.. Well.... You are damn right! It is one festival that makes the whole world around you shine with lights, crackers, sweets, dry fruits, delicacies that is made only during Diwali for generations in you family and then again more sweets. I am no fan of sweets or the crackers. Neither would I encourage too much of light show (Go Green!). But what is best about Diwali is Family, Relatives and Friends. They are all just there during this time to wish "Happy and Prosperous" Diwali. I am missing all this big time. To distract myself from all this I did indulge in cooking and putting lights. Did the Puja as per the muhurat and lit Diyas in every corner of the house. But it's not the same. ...

Adhyatma Ramayan

Had read it long back in some book. Found it very interesting and cohesive theory. According to the Adhyatma Ramayan, Ravan is our ego, that part of us that is constantly seeking external validation. Having submitted to adharma our ego has abducted sita, our mind. That is why we constantly seek to dominate the world around us and that is why we do not accept it for what it is. We have to rescue Sita. We have to unleash the power of Hanuman, our intellect, cross the sea of life, overpower Ravan, burn his golden Lanka and reunite Sita with Ram, who awaits discovery within us. This Ram cannot be fettered to a particular period or a particular place. He is unbound by time and space. He exists everywhere at all times. He is our soul within us, our true identity, animating us, watching us. When this Ram is realized, the desire for political victory ebbs. One is filled with love, wisdom and compassion for all. Dharma reigns supreme and Ram Rajya is established both within and around u...

Change!

Change thrills me. What does it say about me? Probably that I get bored easily? Yes I do, when things are mundane in my life and so is my room; well it is just plain irritating. The bed in the same corner aligned well with my study table. Ah boring! I have lived in the same room for past 1 year and well ask my flatmates how many time they got up and saw that everything in my room was moved (I just like to equally justify all the 4 walls). Now with all the options exhausted I just moved to the other room (or you can say circumstantially..) I am just loving it. The fresh side of a room (will not say new as I used occupy the room a year back); the fresh view from the window. Morning cup of tea on the sill of my new window, the cool breeze post sunrise, even that feels different on my cheeks. Call me impatient, or bored easily or even flaky; but I believe except for two aspects everything else in life demands a change. The two aspects? 1. The person you are at th...

Time to Relax...

When is the time to Relax?? After graduating from college I can't recall a single incident where in I was relaxed and eased out. During school and college I fondly remember my antics trying to cram up or 'study' a subject. I loved to study History especially from Class IX and X! I used to read the textbooks again and again like a story book. My parents surely wasn't happy about I ignoring upon science! So I used to read History books hidden with the thick backdrop of Chemistry book (ABC was the reference book I used). So was the results I scored 80+ only in History and English rest all the subject scores remained average. Yes I was destined to take up science. Anyways, those were the most relaxed days even with the pressure of exams ; 'Who cared'! The 'Who cares' attitude is a lost concept now! Simple reason I could dare not care because my parents were there to do so. Today I am an independent working woman. I NEED to care cause no one els...
