Coorg the anglicised name of Kodagu disctrict; was my first trip on a weekend when I had initially come don south for job.
Hence, when this time friends suggested a weekend trip to Coorg I did not think twice for its a beautiful place to be nostalgic about! :)
This time in Coorg apart from usual tourist places like Abbey falls, Raja seat and Golden temple we also went to Talakaveri and Bhagmandala.
Talakaveri was the high point of the trip without a doubt; even geographically!
Talakaveri is considered to be the source of river Kaveri. Is is marked by a temple inside which there is a tank or kund built where in devotees can take the holy dip.

Some believers also throw coins in the tank and make a wish. As we all did there too! :)

Like all the other temples in south India the architecture of this one too was very beautiful reminiscing the ancient India!
From inside the temple there are stone steps to the top of the hill which gives breathtaking view of the mountain range. The following video gives a glimpse of how all of us were smitten by the view when we reached the top! :)
We explored more sides of the range barefoot as we were. But a truly unforgettable experience! :) Cows munching grass on the hill sides.. had only seen that in movies till now. And being from north India was only habitual of seeing pine trees on mountains! :P
After climbing down we drove our way back to stop at Bhagmandala. At this place, the Kaveri is joined by two tributaries, the Kannike and the mythical Sujyoti river. (Source: Wikipedia)
Accompanied by another architectural rich temple; this place was a peaceful retreat after the hill top excursion.
These two places and the company of really fun people made my second visit to Coorg worthwhile! :)
